While tracking the quality of nightly sleep is compelling, many customers don’t want to wear a watch or any devices to bed.

The Challenge

Launching the third Halo device presented us with a unique set of challenges. Our goal was to address customers' sleep tracking needs without requiring them to wear a watch or any devices to bed. This meant developing a contact-free device that could silently track sleep stages of users from a bedside table, and in the morning gently wake them during their lightest sleep stage for a refreshed start to the day.

Throughout the launch development, managing a matrix of requirements, coordinating feedback and approvals across various organizations, and implementing UX and engineering changes proved to be significant hurdles. These challenges required meticulous collaboration, constant problem-solving, and an agile approach to ensure a successful, on-time and on budget device launch.

This product launch not only raised awareness for the Halo brand but also generated organic media attention, with numerous positive press stories and customer reviews online. In the first 3 months, this product grew to a 4-star rating on Amazon.

Throughout this product launch, I was proud to be given the opportunity to shape and influence the collaboration and design work across brand, marketing, UX, and content. I’m proud of the work these teams co-created, and their determination to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
