I’ve spent most of my career learning how people make things together.

I began as a designer, focused on the thing in front of me. As projects grew, more people, disciplines, and decisions entered the picture. I became as interested in how the work happened as in the work itself.
I kept seeing context scattered across teams. People solved different versions of the same problem, and strong ideas weakened as they passed from one person to the next. Projects took longer, rework grew, and frustration displaced the energy people needed to make something good.
That led me to creative systems: designing how people frame a problem, share context, make decisions, and carry an idea through to the finished work.
Today’s tools give small teams access to more context and capability than I could have imagined at the start of my career. I like difficult problems, clear standards, and enough room to try the strange idea.
That possibility became Bluem. Built to bring together the right people for each problem and stay close to the work from beginning to end.
Family is the center of my life. I live on Mercer Island with my wife and our five children. This may explain my interest in shared context, clear decisions, and systems that can survive contact with real life. It reminds me that good structure gives people room to be themselves.
If you're working through similar questions, I'd be glad to hear what you're learning.
